I am so excited to be part of South Africa’s brand new food festival – Appetite Fest. It’s a family-friendly food festival set to make its debut at Sun Arena, Time Square, this August 18 and 19 and it’s going to be an epic culinary extravaganza for friends and family, exploring the magic and diverse tastes and flavours of South Africa – all under one roof.

The amazing team at Sun International are spearheading the event, and you can expect great things – from demos and dinners hosted by Matt, Gary and George from Materchef Australia Fame, UK Michelin starred chef Vineet Bhatia and some of South Africa’s top food talents including Peter Tempelhoff, Bertus Basson, Adriaan Maree, Eric Bulpitt, Chris Papayaness, Siba Mtongana – and even home cooks like me 🙂

What’s On The Menu?
Expect two jam-packed days of interactive cooking demonstrations, artisanal food stalls, trend talks, live entertainment, celebrity chef workshops and more. Besides the glam of the big names, they’ve categorised Appetite into four main areas:

• This is a Man’s World
  Hot off the coals, this area is designed just for the lads! Expect everything from beer and Brandy to braais and rugby.
• Mumm’s the Word
  As the name suggests, the Champagne will be flowing in this pamper zone at Appetite. Here the ladies can experience Africology treatments while sipping on bubbly and G&Ts. Bliss!
• Kid’s Own
  A dedicated area designed to dish up kids’ food and fun all weekend. Activities include jumping castles, jungle gyms, face painting, a kiddies cooking theatre, coordination games, The Magic Company and more.
• Streatery
  Tapping into the street food trend, Appetite attendees can explore a diversity of artisanal food trucks and culinary pop-up stalls.
