A Look Back At Our First Women’s Wellness Event

Hi Everyone!

Our first Women’s Wellness Event that we hosted in Bryanston last weekend was such a special day! I hosted the event alongside my amazing nutritionist and wellness expert friend Jeanne van Zyl and we curated an event that we hope will cultivate a lifestyle that promotes balance and inside-out beauty among the attendees. We also shared quick tips and tricks on healthy eating that is actually attainable, as well as goodie bags packed full of goodness to help everyone on their way 🙂 We’re planning on hosting another event in Pretoria on Saturday 27th January, so stay tuned for updates on that!

We were overwhelmed by the response and the support right from the very start, with the event selling out in under 48 hours. We even increased from 50 attendees to over 90, and we’re so glad we did! It was such a happy, inspiring, insightful morning – thank you again so much to all of those who joined us, and to our amazing partners – we couldn’t have done it without you.

Here’s a little more on each of our partners, who are all passionate about quality products that make living a healthy life that much simpler.

Munching Mongoose
Brad and his team select beautiful, wholesome and natural food products from around Joburg and offer a weekly delivery of fresh goodies to your door. They provide everything from organic dairy products to fruit and vegetables and lots in between, and we think it’s an amazing initiative to support. I speak from experience when I say that their level of service and care is rare. The Munching Mongoose team promote everything that I believe in about good food – Eat Natural, Eat Local, Eat Well

NOMU
I have known Paul and Tracy from NOMU for a few years, and I really admire their business ethics and amazing products – they refuse to compromise on quailty to bring us the very best pantry staples. Their beautiful stocks and fonds are renowned country wide, as are their spice mixes, baking kits, olive oils and rubs. But that wasn’t our focus last Saturday – we were after a little healthy indulgence, and the NOMU team didn’t disappoint us – they set up a very snazzy hot chocolate stand and spoilt us with their delicious unsweetened Hot Chocolate varieties, and they went down a treat! Thank you guys for coming all the way from Cape Town to join in the fun!

Triple Orange
I really wanted a ‘healthy home’ partner on board for our event, and we were delighted when Triple Orange joined the party. They are a favourite in my own home, and manufacture excellent home cleaning products (laundry gel, all purpose cleaner and dishwasher gel) that are all completely natural, biodegradable and non-toxic.

Health Riot
You might already have read some of my recent blog posts about how much I love Cassava Flour – it’s by far my favourite gluten-free alternative to wheat flour, so I was over the moon when Valeska joined us all the way from Cape Town to share her story and more information on her amazing product.

Nutribullet
I’m pretty sure we’re all familiar with Nutribullet, but I loved that they were part of our day too – because I couldn’t imagine living a healthy life without them. I shared some of my favourite healthy eating hacks that the ‘bullet’ makes so easy, and covered all kinds of things from how to make nut butter to natural flours, nut milk, healthy turmeric latte’s, healthy hot chocolate, breakfast jars and also lots more info from my new book, Wholesome.

And we were also spoilt with goodies from Esse’s latest range of beautiful, completely natural and 100% organic skincare products which are AMAZING! Thank you so much to the Esse team for being so generous.

It was also a privilege to have Ian Craig and Rachel Jessen with us to talk about their life-changing book ‘Wholesome Nutrition For You’, thank you so much for coming in to share with everyone!

And thanks again to all of you who joined us, it was such a special day and Jeanne and I loved meeting you all and spending time chatting.
