My Favourite Green Power Smoothie


Even if you’re the most ardent anti-green smoothie goer out there, I think that this just might hit the spot. The added creaminess of the frozen banana fights off any potentially overwhelming greenness and it’s absolutely delicious. Also, it’s packed full of nutrients and fibre and is one of the most perfect ways to kick start your day.



Cooks in:        Serves:2

  • 1 frozen banana
  • 2 handfuls baby spinach or roughly chopped kale
  • 1 Tbsp chia seeds
  • 1 Tbsp pea protein powder (or natural protein powder of your choice, hemp is also good)
  • 1 Tbsp almond flour (or any nut flour)
  • 1 Tbsp nut butter
  • 1/2 cup plant based milk
  • 1 cup filtered water
  • Handful ice blocks (optional)

What to do

Blend all of the ingredients together and adjust for consistency. Drink immediately or store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 24 hours.

These are great made in batches, double the ingredients and store in the fridge to grab and go in the mornings.
Freeze past-their-best bananas to use in smoothies like this one, they add extra creaminess.
