Meet Homewood

Hey Friends!

As you might already have seen over in my Instagram Feed, we recently did a bit of redecorating at our home in Noordhoek, and I was over the moon to collaborate with some really special local brands to achieve the look and feel that we were hoping for.

I wanted very specifically to partner with proudly South African producers who are defined by care, and to pour a little bit of that magic into our home.

I’m sure it comes as no surprise that we love entertaining – so when it came to selecting a beautiful table for all our al fresco feasting, I knew exactly whose door I wanted to knock on. Homewood are the epitome of meticulous, sustainable craftmanship that’s fuelled by passion.

As Ian Perry, Homewood’s founder and director says:

Ian and his team are clearly on the right track, and their recent win of the prestigious DTI 2021 Furniture Design Competition is another nod to their hard work and dedication. And that hard work and dedication is felt at every stage of the journey with a Homewood piece. Every item is a carefully curated piece of ‘functional art’ that is hand crafted to their customer’s comfort, functionality and space.

Along with the Homewood team and our interior designer Lauren Slinger, we chose the Boyi Outdoor Table and Ubuhle Bench for our patio. We have already had countless happy memories sitting at our table, from New Year’s eve Potjie to friends feasting on Crayfish and home made pasta, Sunday pancakes with our girls, quiet sushi and wine on a Friday evening watching the sunset… The table has seen it all, and I’m so excited that there will be so many more happy moments around a full table for years and years to come. If only furniture could speak hey? Well, maybe it does.
