Quick Cocoa Halva Mousse with Dark Chocolate Crust

This pretty little dessert just happens to be light and airy, but decadent and totally delicious at the same time. And I know dessert mousse is kind of retro, but I like that. And this has a really original twist using the Mediterranean Delicacies cocoa halva to flavour the cream mixture. I also like the dark chocolate crust that you have to work your way through before you get to the fluffy cocoa-flavoured halva mousse. Fun.

Ingredients

Cooks in:        Serves:2

  • 200ml fresh cream
  • 1 tub Mediterranean Delicacies Cocoa Halva
  • 75g Dark Chocolate
  • Fresh strawberries, for serving

What to do

1. Whip the cream until thick and it can form stiff peaks. Crumble the halva into the dish and fold through until just combined. Place into serving glasses and chill in the freezer if you are eating immediately, or in the fridge if serving within the next few hours.

2. Meanwhile, make the chocolate crust by melting your chocolate in the microwave in 20 second bursts, then stir with a whisk until smooth and glossy. This should take about 2 minutes. Allow to cool to room temperature and then pour over the mousse and chill again until the chocolate has set. Serve with fresh strawberries on the side.
