Caro’s phone. The one with the very cracked screen. But SO much more than that. Caro’s phone takes continuity photos throughout filming, so that if we break or stop for any reason, and then need to backtrack and re-shoot something, we remember that ‘that knife was there; that pot was to the left of that other pot; that avocado was still whole at that point’ and so the list goes on.

Caro is one of our food stylists, she’s an adventurer, chef, food stylist and food writer and is passionate about real food, beautiful produce and people. She’s a proper plaas chick and we love her not just because of her grit and how tough she is, or how she rocks a pair of Vellies, but because of how good and kind and thoughtful she is, and how much she loves her work and loves making food look beautiful.

She’s super creative, clever and quirky and I love chatting to her about new recipe ideas and using super healthy and interesting ingredients in new ways, she’s a brilliant sounding board. Also, if you need someone who can improvise and make a plan on the fly, breeze through unflustered and probably with a smile all over her face, she’s your girl. Caro, let’s do this again!

More about Caro
“Working on Sarah Graham’s Food Safari enriched my life so much. It was and is one of the most amazing experiences I have ever had. Africa, friends and food. What more can a girl ask for?” – Caro

After finishing chef school and an internship at the acclaimed Le Quartier Francias under the watchful eye of Margot Janse and Chris Erasmus, she headed homewards to Piet Retief where she owned a successful bistro for 2 years – in this time a love for blogging and food media blossomed and Caro packed her bags once again and headed for Cape Town where she has been cooking and styling for the past 4 years.

Look for her name in many a popular recipe book and various magazines – She is especially proud of her monthly contributions to the PnP Fresh Living magazine.

Along with her apron she often dons her running shoes for long lovely days on television sets – this year she has also worked on other TV shows including Neill Anthony Private Chef (SABC3), Siba’s Table 2 (Food Network), Fabulous Food Academy (Food Network), and Just Cooking with Justine (BBC).

Traveling and Instagram are two of her best friends.
