Happy New Year!

Rob aptly describes this picture as ‘the fruit of 2011’… Just before we went back home to Zimbabwe for Christmas, in fact as we were driving out the gate, the courier company arrived with THE FIRST COPY OF MY BOOK. Finally having it in my hands was exciting and absolutely terrifying in equal measure.

Terrifying, I suppose, because having your name attached to something ‘out there’ gives people carte blanche to have an opinion about it. That said, I am so proud of the work the publishers have done and can’t wait for you to see it too! It goes on sale in early February and I’ll be sure to keep you updated. But book or no book, the most important thing that happened in our lives last year was the arrival of little Sophie Grace, who astounds us every day with her pluckiness and sweetness.

And I guess what’s expected of one’s first post of the new year is an inspirational dialogue that leaves you ready to carpeĀ“ the heck out of every diem, and all that. Hopefully though, as I am rather late with my first post (no surprises there – I am sure it’s what you have come to expect of me since I traded in my handbag for a baby bag 7 months ago when Sophie arrived) you are already swimming in a slew of good tidings, have so far stuck to all your New Year’s resolutions (??!) and are proceeding into a 2012 that is fat with endless possibilities.

And speaking of fat, I am guessing that top of the resolutions list for many of us is eat yourself thin. So over the next few weeks I shall endeavour to send your way recipes that are (mostly) kind to your waistline but still leave you smiling all over your face…
