Lichelle May (Food Assistant)

Lichelle and Chad were besties while we were on the road. I loved seeing how they worked together, always supporting, building up, having each others’ backs. So cool.

Lichelle trained at the Institute of Culinary Arts in Stellenbosch, and previously worked at the very swanky Delaire Graff estate. That was her past life. And I bet she never thought it would take her to working crazy hours in the middle of the bush with mostly no running water or electricity, and certainly no supermarkets to pop in to and catch up on exotic ingredients. And believe me, this city girl showed the bush who’s boss. I loved watching her in action; meticulous, smart, endlessly kind, brave and calm. Thanks Lichelle for giving all that you gave, so truly and sincerely and professionally. You were a very special part of our team.
