Yes Really, The Telly

Well folks, I mentioned this a few months ago, but now it seems that the whispers have built up into a din and that a TV show will soon, really definitely, be the case. The story goes something like this… (with a  precursor of many months of if’s and buts and big fat maybes)

There was once a blog (yes that’s this), and then a book called ‘bitten.’ which, by the way, is now available on Amazon in the good old US of A AND the UK. Super duper hey? And, then, there was a TV pilot. A teeny tiny little TV pilot, with a not so teeny tiny pregnant me, that we filmed in Cape Town in February 2011. And then, a production company (made up of a bunch of legends) who rather fancied said TV pilot. And then, lo and behold, some folks at a distribution company over in the UK who thought this was all just dandy and so now, we’re helter skelter head over heels on our way to making a fully-fledged TV show. Kind of amazing hey?

To add to all the amazingness, we have some of South Africa’s most talented Chefs lined up to join us, a wine connoisseur or two, some incredible sponsors, and a few epic locations. What could possibly be more fun?

SO WHAT’S NEXT?

I am currently up to my eyeballs in testing and re-testing recipes and scripting and plotting and planning. Let’s just say that it’s not a bad job to have to do.

We start filming in Cape Town on Sunday 24th March for almost 6 weeks and we’ll be shooting everywhere from the BoKaap to the West Coast, Franschhoek, Stellenbosch and Noordhoek. I’ll be posting lots more about the behind-the-scenes chaos and merriment as we go.

Sunday 5th May 2013 at 1530 on SABC3 in South Africa we will kick off with Episode 1 of ‘bitten. Sarah Graham Cooks Cape Town’ and we’ll be back on your screens at the same time every Sunday for 12 more Sundays.
