Yuppiechef says Hi, and Life on Location

During the first couple of weeks of shooting, Andrea and Andrea popped by from over at Yuppiechef HQ in Cape Town, and we sat down during the lunch break to have a candid heart to heart about how I ended up here, making a TV show and stuff. And Life on Location

And now that we’re no longer based at our happy house in Kenilworth, we’ve been racking up some serious miles in and around Cape Town during the Location Shoots. Without wanting to give too much away, I’ll just say that we’ve cooked a colourful curry in Milnerton; cooked up a proper storm in Stellenbosch; wandered through Vineyards and had a farm-style feast in Elgin; chopped a mushroom or two in Noordhoek (and met a very cute and very large pig named Charlotte) and tackled sand, sea, sun and surf in abundance up the West Coast.

That means we only have two episodes left to shoot, which we’re in the middle of right now, and Friday night 26th April will see the lights go out and the last camera turned off on location for #bittenTV. Weird (and a whole slew of other very stirring adjectives). I know that it’s going to be triumphant and deliriously happy and monumentally nostalgic all at the same time.

So now, we are less than two weeks away from our first air date here in South Africa on Sunday 5th May at 3.30pm on SABC3. Watch this space for more behind-the-scenes snippets and snapshots as we go along, as well as the recipes coming to you live straight after each episode airs.
