Teff Porridge
Ingredients
Cooks in: Serves:2-4
- 1 cup Teff grain
- 3 cups water
- 3 cups almond milk (or other milk of choice)
- 1/2 teaspoon of Nutmeg
- 1 Vanilla pod (halve it)
- 1/4 teaspoon of vanilla scooped out from the pod
- Coconut flakes or berries for topping
- Maple syrup or coconut sugar for sweetening
What to do
1. Add 1 cup of Teff Grain to 3 cups of water and bring to boil. 2. Cook for 10 minutes, stirring continuously until water has been absorbed by the Teff Grain. 3. Add the 3 cups of almond milk (or other milk of choice) whilst stirring, add vanilla, vanilla pod and nutmeg. 4. Allow to simmer for 5 minutes, add 2 tablespoons of coconut sugar (or desired sweetener). 5. Serve with your choice of toppings. Photo by Theana Breugem (The Food Photographer)
